Announcement
8 King Street Chambers, proudly formed between the Wars by 5 Members of the Northern Circuit who, in time, were elevated to the High Court Bench, and, in some cases, beyond, regrets to announce that it is to be dissolved. Notwithstanding that this tradition was maintained through the years, with a number of Members taking Silk and some being appointed to the Circuit Bench, the current Members feel that such is the present climate and desire amongst the Bar for larger groupings the future for 8 King Street Chambers was to disband, and for the Members to join other sets.
The current Members feel at a loss as how to thank fully those who have instructed them, and Members before them. The support from those many firms of solicitors and Local Authorities, over the years, is greatly appreciated, and whilst 8 King Street Chambers will cease in name, its ethos will be maintained by its Members in their new Chambers.
To facilitate all the changes which will take place a presence will remain at 8 King Street to facilitate the changes and to ensure that Instructing Solicitors do not suffer any inconvenience.
